The Fish S4 and S5 are of similar construction, with the S5 having the addition of a heat exchange coil. Select either from the drop down menu below. They enable buffering of heat in the heating installation and allow integration of multiple heat source and emitter options. The tanks are insulated with soft polyurethane foam 100mm.

What is a Buffer tank? A buffer tank stores hot water which can then be called upon when needed. The buffer tank essentially acts as a battery in a central heating system, that is charged by a heat source (ie , Solar, heat pump, solid fuel boiler). This ability to acquire on-demand heat reduces the ‘short cycling’ of the boiler, thus increasing the lifetime of the boiler & the heating efficiency of your home.
What size tank do I need? The size of the buffer tank depends on the heat load & hot water requirements of your household. Your plumber will be able to help you with calculating these requirements or we can assess this for you, For more information click here.
Can a Buffer tank be used in conjunction with solid fuel? Yes, a solid fuel boiler can be used to heat both pressurised & non pressurised systems. Greentherm are capable of supplying both of these custom systems, which will be designed & manufactured to suit your needs. For more information on the implementation of solid fuel systems click here.
